Abstract

State biology researchers have concluded that the construction of a new highway bridge as part of the $36 million bypass to connect Interstate 95 in Topsham with Route 1 in Brunswick would not adversely affect the endangered shortnose sturgeon. As part of the research, six sturgeon netted in the Androscoggin River were fitted with radio transmitters to track their movements.
