Abstract

The recent confrontation between Native Americans and New Agers in Windham was a visible incident in a simmering debate over the use of native rituals by non-natives. Members of the Micmac, Maliseet, Apache, Penobscot and Passamaquoddy tribes disrupted a forum on Native American spirituality attended by about 100 participants. Details.
