Abstract

Public hearings before the Legislature's Taxation Committee on tax exemptions drew comments from business leaders, labor organizations and advocacy groups. A proposal from the taxpayers for a Fair Budget, a coalition of advocacy groups and labor organizations, would raise nearly $220 million over two years, but came under fire from the business sector.
