Abstract

The Maine Attorney General's Office has reached an out-of-court settlement with Capital Advertising Inc. of Auburn, a telemarketing firm which allegedly bilked elderly consumers out of nearly $1 million with false promises of valuable prizes and cash. The settlement provides $194,000 in attached assets from the firm, which would be used to pay restitution to more than 1,000 customers, all located outside of the state.
