Abstract
Judiciary Committee members are likely to remain as divided as their constituents over three abortion-rights bills being considered, according to committee co-chairs Sen. Gerard P. Conley Jr. and Rep. Constance D. Cote. A bill presented by Gov. John R. McKernan would strenthen Maine's present abortion policies, while two pro-life measures would require that women receive information about abortion risks and alternatives, and that unmarried women under 18 have the consent of an adult.
