Abstract

Aseptic packaging, which was outlawed by the Maine Legislature in 1989, is attempting to make a comeback in the state, but the issue now is not whether the cartons can be recycled but how far industry should go to promote recycling. Recent meetings between state officials and the Aseptic Packaging Council have not resolved the issue, and the House is set to vote on removing the ban this session. Details.
