Abstract

Extremely cold water temperatures off the Maine coast are affecting crabs, lobsters, shrimp and other ocean creatures, adversely affecting the fishermen who depend on the animals for a living. The cold renders crustaceans almost dormant and devastates fish farms, but may boost future shrimp catches.
