Abstract

The Buxton Road overpass, which crosses the Maine Turnpike in Saco, crumbled in one section, leaving a hole about six inches in diameter and sending concrete onto the highway below, damaging three vehicles. No one was seriously injured in the incident, which officials says points up the age and disrepair of the overpass and many others like it in the state. Related article.
