Abstract

Under the state's 1994-95 Transportation Improvement Program, Maine will nearly double spending on transportation projects from the 1992-93 total of $275 million to a proposed $517 million, mostly with federal money for long-planned projects. There will also be a shift of money to non-traditional projects under federal and state policies written in 1991 encouraging non-highway solutions to transportation problems.
