Abstract

The Wilderness Society reports that increases in the budget of the National Park Service have failed to keep pace with inflation, forcing parks such as Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor to reduce staffing and cut back on programs. The workforce at Acadia has dropped from 150 to 144 since last summer, but officials there say park visitors won't notice any changes in service.
