Abstract

Former state trooper William Googins was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the shooting of a friend of his ex-wife at a camp in Portage. Googins was given a 16-year sentence with six years suspended for attempted murder in the January 19, 1992, shooting of Richard Theriault, 24, of Ashland.
