Abstract

A delegation which included Gov. McKernan, Senate President Dennis Dutremble and Assistant Senate Minority Leader David Carpenter traveled to Pratt & Whitney's East Hartford, Conn., headquarters to lobby to save 1,500 jobs at a manufacturing plant in North Berwick, Maine. Pratt & Whitney has announced its intentions to consolidate operations and eliminate 10,000 jobs by next year.
