Abstract

The Brunswick Naval Air Station's bomb squad is scheduled to be eliminated in September, and Maine's law enforcement agencies, which have relied on the squad for about 20 years in dealing with explosives and suspicious objects, are looking to find some way to to deal with future situations demanding bomb-squad expertise. The Navy unit dealt with an average of two calls per month.
