Abstract

Ronald Nowell and James Bartlett, the two York selectmen targeted for removal from office, survived a close recall election and declared that their victories vindicated their style of government. The pro-recall forces said that despite the outcome of the vote a message had been sent about the accountability of the town's selectmen.
