Abstract

Maine has been trying to get rid of plastic six-pack yokes since the Legislature banned their sale in the state in 1989, citing the danger to wildlife. Manufacturers of the rings have managed to postpone the ban by promising to develop rings that are less harmful, and now a cardboard yoke could make the ban more viable. Details, chronology of the "Battle of the Rings."
