Abstract

The Legislature's Marine Resources Committee will consider a bill that would require a state license for saltwater sport fishermen, who have traditionally been exempt from fees. The bill as written is not expected to pass into law because it lacks information on where the money will go and what the impact will be, but the hearing process will probably result in a study of saltwater fishing in Maine.
