Abstract

A University of Southern Maine School of Applied Sciences study is examining the effect of equipment design on workplace injury. The ongoing study, currently funded with a $40,000 state grant, has demonstrated how manufacturers can use inexpensive equipment to help design machinery that reduces the muscular fatigue and strain inherent in many production tasks.
