Abstract

Rory McCarthy, 38, of Bath, who suffers from a degenerative muscle disease, will begin a cross country cycling trip from Anticortes, Washington, to Portland, Maine, next week. The 4,000 mile trek, called Access to Life is intended to raise awareness of what people with disabilities can accomplish and to raise money for the event's two non-profit sponsors, Northeast Passage Inc. and Danny's Team Foundation.
