Abstract

William Moore, a researcher at the University of Southern Maine's Production Technology Center, is studying the impact of ergonomics--the worker-center approach to workplace design--at the Irwin Company in Gorham. Moore hopes to demonstrate that a workplace adapted to the way a human body works is an effective way to prevent chronic injuries.
