Abstract

Democratic State Committee Chairman James Mitchell's plan to stage Maine's first gubernatorial straw poll during the party's February 1994 caucuses met with mixed reactions from candidates and would-be candidates. The Democratic State Committee is expected to vote on the proposal in August.
