Abstract

The Maine Warden Service is increasing its inspections of pleasure boaters on Maine waterways, following a decision to crack down on operators who mix boating with drugs and/or alcohol. Convictions for operating under the influence while boating increased from 5 in 1988 to 35 in 1991, the last year for which figures are available. Related article.
