Abstract

More than 50 illegal aliens have been detained this week in eastern Maine, most of whom were working the blueberry barrens in Washington County. Meanwhile, eight Hispanic migrant workers have filed suit in U.S. District Court in Bangor against Maine Wild Blueberry Co. of Machias and two out-of-state labor contractors alleging violations of migrant worker and labor laws.
