Abstract

The Charles J. Loring Amvets Post 25 has submitted to city officials preliminary designs for the Charles J. Loring Memorial, which would be located on Eastern Promenade overlooking Back Cove. The memorial, designed by Theo Holtwijk and Todd Richardson, would honor Major Charles J. Loring Jr, a Portland native and World War II and Korean War hero, who was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor.
