Abstract

Paul Powers, a trustee of Winslow Park in Freeport, yesterday laid to rest a 15-year-old dispute over park management by agreeing that decisions of the town council, made in the best interest of the park, would not violate the terms of the trust. Powers' position is a setback for those opposed to implementation of a masterplan that would reduce the number of campsites from 100 to 44. The park, entrusted to the town in 1953 by Adelaide Winslow Harb, is one of the most scenic in Maine.
