Abstract

The morale of employees at Bath Iron Works's drydock facility in Portland has been shattered by the failure of the yard to secure $255 million in Sealift contracts involving the conversion of three commercial cargo ships into Strategic Sealift ships. BIW has not secured any contracts specifically for the drydock since the USS Haylor was overhaulted in April 1992.
