Abstract

Danielle VanDeVenter, 18, of Park Avenue in Portland, the former girlfriend of Patrick Coombs, 21, who is accused of the Sunday night murder of Daniel Reynolds, 23, of Westbrook, said Reynolds was shot and killed after he attempted to protect her from abuse. The incident took place in VanDeVenter's Portland apartment building.
