Abstract

Portland police yesterday arrested Stephen Golash, a Portland jewelry shop owner, at his Exchange Street shop, Jewelry Designs of Maine Inc., after he threatened to commit suicide. Golash, 32, of Windham, was armed with a shotgun and a pistol. He has been charged with reckless conduct with firearms. Golash is having marital difficulties and police feared he might use the weapons against others in addition to himself.
