Abstract

There is a growing trend among Maine high schools to schedule four 75- to 80-minute classes per day, as opposed to the traditional schedule of seven 45-minute periods a day. Education officials believe that the longer classroom periods allow more student-teacher interaction and help information sink in better than the shorter class periods. Details, related article.
