Abstract

The Congressional Term Limits Coalition filed a proposal to bar from the Maine ballot any U. S. House candidate who has served in the House for six or more of the previous 11 years, or any Senate candidate who has served in the Senate for 12 or more of the previous 17 years. The group will need 52,308 signatures on petitions by January 31 put the issue on next year's ballot. In this November's election, Maine voters will decide the fate of a similar limit on state legislators.
