Abstract

Portland police report that 229 bicycles were stolen in Portland between June 1 and August 31, as compared to 194 thefts for the same period last year. The average value of the bikes stolen increased from $334.91 for 1992 to $378.64 for 1993, and the people who take the bicycles are apparently becoming more brazen in their actions. Details.
