Abstract

An analysis of the difference between the sales taxes and personal income taxes each county pays and the amount the counties gets back from the state in the form of revenue sharing and other state money shows that Maine's richer counties are subsidizing its poorer ones. Details on amounts the individual counties pay into and receeve from the state.
