Abstract

Bessie Wright Phillips of Salem, Mass., has donated or has plans to donate 7,000 acres of land in the Rangeley Lakes region to local land trusts for preservation. The parcels range in size from 14 acres to 3,000 acres, and will be combined with existing public lands for eventual acquisition by the federal and/or state governments.
