Abstract

The Coalition for Lower Utility Bills, a consortium of groups opposed to a Central Maine Power Co. (CMP) rate increase, says the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) let CMP off too easily when it levied a $4 million fine against the company. PUC staff experts apparently recommended a $35 million fine, but commission members didn't think the evidence supported one that large. Details.
