Abstract

Senate Majority Leader George J. Mitchell has succeeded in convincing the Clinton Administration to protect two Maine paper mills from its new recycling policy, which mandates that federal agencies purchase printing and writing materials with at least 20 percent recycled content. The Lincoln Pulp and Paper Co. in Lincoln and Eastern Fine Paper Inc. will continue to be able to compete for federal contracts with their recycled paper products, which contain sawdust. Details.
