Abstract
A study by the Secretary of State's office shows that women hold 1,323 of the 4,160 elected positions in the state, or 32 percent, but tend to be in the slots that require clerical skills and perform tasks traditionally assigned to women. The study showed that men are commonly elected to positions that require policy-making, legal decision-making and law enforcement. Details.
