Abstract

The League of Women Voters is supporting a proposal which would impose a charge of 20 cents on every brown paper bag sent home with consumers from grocery stores. The measure would cut into the 9,100 tons of trash generated by brown bags each year, and will be debated in the Legislature during the 1994 session. Details.
