Abstract

Editorial urging Wells voters to vote "yes" on referendum question 9 on November 2. The question provides for the construction of a multimodal transportation center in Wells. To be built and owned by the Maine Turnpike Authority with a federal grant and $200,000 of turnpike money, the center would serve as a rail passenger terminal and as a terminal for interstate bus service, taxi, limosine, and trolley services as well. Wells would be responsible for maintaining the interior of the building and the passenger platform .
