Abstract

Former Sagadahoc County sheriff David A. Haggett on Tuesday pleaded guilty in Wiscasset District Court to a misdemeanor charge of misuse of entrusted property. Judge Michael Westcott sentenced Haggett to 120 days in jail, with all the time suspended, fined him $2,000 and ordered him to perform 75 hours of community service. Haggett had taken $9,500 in county funds over a two-year period. Details.
