Abstract

Last week's votes by the U.S. House and Senate to end funding for the Superconducting Super Collider has resulted in the loss of $65 million in potential income for Silvex Inc. of Westbrook. Silvex, which employs 80 people in its Col. Westbrook Executive Park facility, was close to being awarded a metal-plating contract worth $65 million over four years when funding for the controversial project was killed. Details.
