Abstract

Unum Corp. wants to sell longevity coverage, a type of insurance which would pay people who live to an old age. Since the proposed coverage would not necessarily pay out to everyone who particpates, Congress would have to amend the Employment Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 before longevity coverage could be offered. The act requires that retirement plans pay back to all participants the money they put in to the plan. Details.
