Abstract

A number of Democratic legislators who supported House Speaker John L. Martin during last March's historic attempt to remove him from office say they will vote against him if he is still in office in January. Last week's vote in favor of term limits for legislators and top state officials is being perceived by some legislators as a clear signal that voters want Martin out of office, and some Democrats fear that their party will suffer during the 1994 elections if Martin remains as speaker.
