Abstract

The Maine Supreme Judicial Court on Monday denied the town of Freeport's appeal of a judgment favoring Ocean Farms of Maine Inc., and upheld the award of $25,000 to offset expenses incurred during a five-year battle over a strip of sidewalk. The dispute began when Ocean Farm owner Eldon MacLeod installed an asphalt sidewalk in front of his restaurant, which the town said was done without the necessary permits. Details.
