Abstract

State officials and geologists on Wednesday said that testing of wells in Buxton and Hollis doesn't indicate that arsenic contamination in the area is the result of the metal occuring naturally in the bedrock. The number of wells containing arsenic with levels above the federally allowed maximum has increased from 50 to nearly 70 of the 700 wells tested so far. Details.
