Abstract

The Maine People's Alliance on Wednesday issued a report entitled "Poisons in Our Neighborhoods," listing pollution figures for 1991 and ranking Maine's manufacturers by the amount of toxic waste they generate and the amount they release into the environment and waste disposal facilities. The report says that Maine manufacturers in 1991 produced 105.6 million pounds of toxic waste, of which 16.8 million pounds was released into the environment or disposal facilities. Details, lists of manaufacturers and figures for amounts of waste generated and released.
