Abstract

A proposed master plan for improving schools, entitled "Learner Outcomes and Performance Standards," was presented to the Portland School Committee this week and will be refined over the next several weeks for completion by March 14. The plan focuses on the creation of global citizens, motivated learners, versatile thinkers and effective communicators, and stems from the state's Common Core of Learning report recommending the development of unified goals for learning.
