Abstract
New Brunswick is proceeding with plans to harvest rockweed in the Bay of Fundy, and some observers are concerned about the potential effect on the bay's ecosystem and fisheries. Acadian Seafoods of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, will be the only compnay allowed to harvest rockweed, which is processed into an additive for products from paint to ice cream. In Maine, Source Maine of Brunswick harvests rockweed for animal feed, while Atlantic Labs of Waldoboro harvests rockweed for a range of products. Details.
