Abstract
Nationally, 20,000 AmeriCorps participants are involved with 350 community projects dealing with education, the environment, human needs and public safety. Around 120 individuals in Maine are involved with five different programs, and all make a commitment for one year of service. Profiles of Dale Linscott, 19; Mike Johnston, 22; and Julie Porter, 33, three of Maine's AmeriCorps members.
