Abstract
Lincoln Pulp and Paper has reported two spills of untreated waste water at the Lincoln mill in the last month. The company agreed to pay a $1 million fine in 1990 to settle environmental violations, and is currently operating under a consent agreement with the state, which it signed to settle numerous violation of air, water and solid waste regulations. The two recent spills include a spill of 4.5 million gallons on January 20 and a spill of 40,000 gallons on February 5.
