Abstract
Eugene Guilford of the Maine Oil Dealers Association (MODA) said the natural gas industry is overstating the environmental benefits of gas over oil. John Flumerfelt of the Natural Gas Development Corporation said that gas is cleaner and there is no need for a transportation distribution system. Invitations for MODA's spring conference yesterday in Augusta included assurances that participants would learn how to defeat the natural gas industry.
