Abstract
Seasonal affective disorder affects around 25 percent of Americans. Some sufferers are finding relief using flourescent light bulbs, while others rely on Tanning beds or mid-winter trips to Florida. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Maine and Healthsource Maine are two insurance companies that may pay for the SAD Lightbox, one of a half dozen lightbox models on the market. Ruth Beaumont of Acadia Hospital in Bangor tells her patients to get outdoors as much as possible.
